Carolina Reaper

The start of something hot
-
@gr0w3r So, i had to throw this one out. The plant, while with super strong roots, never produced any fruit. Such a bummer
-
@joshuavn I’ve been there. Are you getting much fruit set?
-
Time to trim before i can't shut the door
-
@joshuavn Looking great so far!
-
@joshuavn trimmed and flowering. Looking really good and healthy. I haven't changed the water since the beginning to try something new
-
@joshuavn 42 days in and the plant is really coming along nicely. Not transplanting this one to see the resulting fruit compared to the others transplant.
-
Round 2 Starting 26 days in
-
@joshuavn Harvest of the transplanted Purple Cayenne Peppers and the resulting hot sauce SOOOOOO good.
-
@joshuavn I would say just make sure when you do transplant to keep the soil moist for up to a week to keep the plant going
-
Very cool, thanks for sharing! They're all looking very healthy. It's great to see a transplanting success story. Do you have any tips on transplanting from BLOOM to soil for the community?
-
just got my new supplies in so ill be starting over. While i get set up. Here is what the other 3 plants i transplanted from the bloom to outside look like now.
-
Sorry the Carolina Reaper didn't stick around longer, and we love a good experiment. Let us know if we can do anything to help with your next grow.
-
Well the Grim Reaper came and took the Carolina Reaper (Pun very much intended). The multiple plant experiment didn't end well but lesson learned. The other 2 plants I transplanted are doing well outside, and i have ordered new pepper plants to try it again.

Hi @Joshuavn, looks like it's missing it's friend in there. Have you completed a water change recently? That could help.
Otherwise, check to make sure the Mixing Pump and Irrigation pump are properly connected and working as they should. Something could have gotten knocked out place when taking the other plant out.
Be sure to check that the Irrigation pump tubing is secured onto the Irrigation pump housing, like shown in this picture:

took out the other pepper plant to just leave room for the carolina reaper and it looks like it shocked it. Any suggestions as the roots look very healthy
-
Hi @Joshuavn, flowers dropping in the BLOOM could be due to high temperatures and too high of humidity. You can try to alter a few things and see if this helps:
- Lower your light intensity to 85% -- from Advanced Settings on the Main Menu
- Drop the temperature down a few degrees in your recipe. If you're using the same pepper recipe that I did, I think it was set to 82. I noticed flowers dropping on my last grow as well and setting it down to 78 helped a little.
- Keep pausing the humidifier for one week - you'll see this option when the "Low Humidifier Water Level" alert shows up. Since your plant is large, it's probably pretty steamy in there and you do not need the help of the humidifier at this point.
I'd give it another heavy pruning as well. Otherwise, it's looking very healthy!!
-
the plant is definitely growing after pruning. However all the flowers have fallen off and don't know what to do
-
Hey @Joshuavn. I think you did a great job pruning. I've noticed that everytime I prune my bell peppers, they grow back stronger with more flowers - likely from the stress. I'm hoping you see the same!
-
After Pruning (Hopefully not too much) There are 2 peppers growing now at the bottom left
