Basil-palooza!

I recently moved, and was worried my garden would have trouble with the transition. NOPE! Booted right back up and all is good in the world. I have (too much) cannabis laying around the house from bloom grows, so wanted to try something different. I got this six pod tray, created a basil recipe I thought might work, and dropped in some genovese today. I believe that starting in about 4 weeks, Bloom should produce about a pound of basil a week (that's my goal) for, well, forever. If you live in Colorado, let me know, I'll do some drop offs. Below are pictures of the control panel (right on target) and the planted six pod deck.

Also of interest (maybe) I have it in the garage and our night time temps are down to about 45 right now (mountains). So I switched the light cycle to lights on at night for max efficiency. I think it should work well.IMG-4695.jpg

Only a week or two left until I chop her down and dry her in the cabinet. The trichome production is DENSE DENSE DENSE.

For this round, I tried a bunch of different techniques to up the quality vs. the quantity, and I think it absolutely worked. The pungent aroma and general stickiness to the plant is truly something to behold.

She's alive!

I started by soaking the seed from ILGM in a dark cabinet in a small cup of water for 24 hours before moving into Bloom. She had a tail popping out by this point.

Dwarf sunflowers are GLOWING in my BLOOM! This is day 100, with florals opening about 10+ days ago. I plan on harvesting the blooms in a few weeks and putting out for the birds. 20220510_093734.jpeg

So this is the fourth attempt to grow some sweet Mary Jane. The first 3 times all ended tragically due to various kinks which have been worked out for the fourth attempt. Finally was able to track down an auto flower seed and used that grow recipe. Sunflowers

Another first time grow from the BLOOM Lab. Sunflowers! This is a dwarf variety so we thought we would utilize the 6 pod grow deck accessory. The Sunflower recipe has been uploaded onto the Forum if anyone else wants to try it out. We planted 2 seeds in each pod (which is what we recommend) and all 12 germinated after only a few days. We have decided to keep the back three pods with both plants growing to see how it turns out!

Brussels Sprouts!

We planted these Brussels Sprouts seeds about 14 days ago and they are a beauty so far!

This is our first try at growing Brussels in the BLOOM, so we've got a lot to learn. We know that we need to keep our temperatures LOW, so after this little seedling gets a little bigger, we'll be dropping the temperature to 65 degrees and will monitor the light intensity. Right now, it is lowered to 75%.

About 16 days into the grow, both seeds germinated. I am going to give it a few more days and then decide which one to prune off. I'm leaning more towards the one on the right, the leaves are much larger. So far everything has been pretty simple, am excited to watch it take off!!

Mini Sweet Peppers

Whenever I go to the grocery store I buy a package of the mini sweet peppers so I thought to myself instead of buying these why don't I just grow them! I took some of the seeds from the peppers from the store and started them in an AeroGarden Bounty for a couple weeks to get them going. After the plant was a good size I stuck it in my BLOOM and let it work its magic on my little plant. Another couple of weeks went by and now I have a healthy producing plant! No more buying peppers at the grocery store, there seems to be a nearly unlimited supply coming in!

Suyo Long Cucumbers

Hello again from the BLOOM Lab!

We planted Suyo Long Self-Pollinating Cucumbers seeds in one of our BLOOM's 25 days ago and she is looking good so far! We're currently using the sample "Cucumber" recipe that is pre-loaded on the BLOOM, but may make some adjustments as we learn more throughout this grow and then upload the new Grow Recipe later on.

Remember: Not all plants, strains, and varieties grow the same so the great thing about BLOOM Grow Recipes is that you can edit them at any time from your Control Panel!

We're noticing a little leaf curling going on, and this might be due to too much light. We're going to turn the Light Intensity down to 85% and see if this helps. You can always turn your Light Intensity up or down in the Advanced Settings page through the Main Menu.

We'll be putting a trellis on shortly, and plan to have several trellis's installed so that the plant can really vine like it naturally wants to.
